Ryan Sherlock and Melanie Spath After a successful first season as Team Cycleways in 2009, Ryan and Mel are returning to the 2010 racing season with support again from KCNC, Specialized and a new nutritional sponsor, ZipVit.
After taking up mountain biking only in 2006, Mel started training seriously in 2007 and has since risen through the ranks. In 2009, Mel placed 2nd overall in the British Mountain Bike Series and finished the 2009 season with a UCI World Ranking of 79th.

Some of Ryan’s top results in what was his 3rd racing season in 2009 include a 2nd place in the Irish National XC Championships (after having broken his collarbone 8 weeks beforehand) and a 3rd place in the Irish National Hill Climb Championships.

In 2009, both Ryan and Mel have been voted “Best Male Cyclist of the Year” and “Best Female Cyclist of the Year” in the prestigious Cycling IrelandMembership Award, which covers all cycling disciplines in recognition of their performance and contribution to the sport.

In 2010, Ryan and Mel will be concentrating mainly on XC, and will again be competing in the British Mountain Bike Series for the third season. They have already had an early taster of racing by competing in the Cyprus Sunshine cup and in races of the Israel Cup with Mel finishing a superb 5th overall against top-level competition in Cyprus. In addition, they are planning to complete the Bundesliga Series in Germany, several other European races, the World Cup in Dalby, several Irish mtb and road races and the Marathon World Champs.

See Ryan's blog and Mel's blog for updates on racing and training.
